New Year's Day 2013

Pete, myself, Alan, Kirk, and John (L to R)
Continuing a New Year's Day tradition the small stream "crew" met to kick 2013 off.  This was the first year I was able join in.

Today was raw and gray and the fish seemed content to stay at home but a few fish were caught.  We all met back at the cars for a stream side lunch provided by Alan that was delicious and just what we all needed to warm up a bit.  A great way to kick off the new year fishing with friends old and new.

Happy New Year to you from all of us !

  2. If I can get permission from the boss, I'll do this every year. Even though the fish weren't very cooperative, it was great to meet up and start the new year doing what we love to do.

If Alan is doing the cooking the food has got to be good. From the food images I have seen on his blog tell me this guy not only knows trout fishing but food too. What was the air temp where you guys were fishing. I would be shocked if we got any snow down this way this year. Thanks for sharing a great outing.

  6. All - Yes it was a very nice kickoff to 2013.

Bill - the air temp was in the mid 30's but with the snow, I'm sure the water temp was quite cool. Wet flies seemed to be the ticket for the day all though I think that a few rising fish were seen buy the gang. Yes, Alan's chili was first rate and I have no doubt that as good as the pictures look on his blog, the food tastes even better - thanks again Alan !
