Olive flymph redesign

Handful of olive flymphs
Just got back from traveling last week so I just wanted to relax a little and tie a few simple wet flies.  So I sat down with some Pearsall's primrose yellow silk, some TMC 100 #18 hooks, muskrat fur, and some light dun hen hackle and in no time I had a handful of olive flymphs waiting for my next encounter with fish sipping olives.

  1. Nice ties Mark, I think those would fish nicely greased up and fished in the film. Going to have to tie some up myself!

    1. LQN - two nice fish took this fly in the film last time I was out and bent the hook. So I tied some on TMCs instead of the lighter Mustad dry fly hooks.

    1. Thanks Kiwi, version 1.0 did pretty well so I am expected version 1.1 to bring some fish to the net!

Excellent work at the bench, I am wondering if adding floatant to this pattern would enhance a take in fast water. Thanks for sharing

    1. Bill - thanks. I don't add any floatant to these flies, they will float pretty well without. When they get a little soggy I just blow them dry or use a little silica gel to soak up the water and really dry them out.
