Fall colors

Forgive me if you are feeling down that summer is fading fast, but I love the fall and look forward to it year after year.  The vivid colors of fall in the Adirondacks and New England are one of things I love  about living here.

A few days ago, we were in the Adirondacks and there are signs of the turning seasons everywhere you look.  I hope you are able to enjoy "the magical season" wherever you call home!

Great post with all the beautiful foliage one can expect for fall, even a colorful brook trout. Thanks for sharing

    1. Bill - the trees are still mostly green, we are just seeing little bits of color here and there. By the end of the month the mountains should be in full color.

  2. Asters and ragweeed they're everywhere there's sunshine. When that Pilliated hammers, it sounds like a bass drum, doesn't it?

    1. John - As you say, the asters grow anywhere there is a break in the trees, along roadsides, old logging roads, and sled harbors. I heard the woodpecker before I saw it, it's loud rhythmic wrapping gave it's location away in the silence of the early morning.

    1. Thanks Walt, the second picture is just a blow-up of the first. The morning that I was out had some bright early morning light coming in under dark clouds overhead that gave everything a surreal effect.

    1. thanks Bill - we are certainly getting our taste of fall up here. I was in the Adirondacks last week and the colors are gorgeous up there and the mornings down below 40 degrees!
